Disneyland Trip Report - Day 1: Downtown Disney

A United Airlines plane (this is not the exact plane we took but the one next to our concourse gate) we took to Santa Anna, California

Catal Restaurant in the Downtown Disney district (didn't visit this dining location but I think it is more for single adults and couples rather then those with families)

The AMC Movie Theatre (where I went to see Batman Begins last Friday - best movie of the year so far)

The ESPN Zone restaurant (didn't dine there but would have if I had the time)

Darth Vader ... in LEGO form!

"Don't call me a mindless philosopher, you overweight glob of grease"

Inside the LEGO Imagination Center at Downtown Disney

"I have you now!"

Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen (another dining location at Downtown Disney I failed to visit)

The Uva Bar outside the Catal Restaurant in Downtown Disney

Inside the World of Disney shop in the Downtown Disney district

Inside the Grand Californian Hotel where we stayed for the duration of our week long vacation

One of the weird looking bird statues that were alongside the elevators on our level of the Grand Californian Hotel (and as you can notice I did not use the flash in this picture - since southern California was a different environment in which to take pictures, as opposed to Florida, I was still experimenting with the camera)

And here is the other weird looking bird statues (this is with the flash - notice the vast difference in lighting)

A view of the Disneyland Hotel from our hotel room balcony

The purple monorail which passed through the Grand Californian Hotel (and right under our hotel room - thankfully it didn't make too much and we barely noticed except on a few occassions during our stay)

The red monorail passing throught the Grand Californian Hotel

Naples Ristorante e Pizzeria in the Downtown Disney district where we had dinner the day we arrived in California (expensive pizza but I highly recommend it)

A performer (his name escapes me at the moment) in the Downtown Disney district

The Disneyland Hotel directly across from our hotel room balcony in the evening (I apologize for the blurry picture)
