The Tribune Joins Barrett in Being Taken to the Cleaners

I just love the staff editorials of The Marquette Tribune. They demonstrate effectively the extent to which campus journalism is taken within the university newspaper. In other words, not far at all. If you will recall, last week I reported how 'Major' Tom Barrett was being taken to the cleaners by this private business firm peddling a wireless network for the city of Milwaukee at no cost to taxpayers. However, there is a small bit of information that fails to be included in this pitch, namely that the firm will provide the wireless signal but not the connection. In more laymen’s terms, you will have the wireless signal available but in order to actually surf the internet, you will have to pay an internet provider such as Time Warner out of your own pocket to access it. I would not have expected the staff of The Marquette Tribune to have actually taken the time to investigate this bit of information, so that is why I have taken it upon myself to correct their act of negligence this morning.
