Lord Doyle and the Illegal Immigration Debate

Source: Charlie Sykes

I realize this story may be a couple of days old by now but with all the stuff that I have had to deal with lately (searching for a summer job, stuff going on at home, preparing for vacation at Disneyland next month, and then the nickname issue this afternoon) I haven’t exactly had the time to catch up on these sorts of things as quickly as I would like to. In any event, a couple of days ago I was skimming Charlie Sykes’s weblog and noticed a particular entry which announced the launching of a brand new website which I thought a few of my readers would enjoy checking out. The Coalition For America's Families has launched their website in an effort to address specific issues which most affect the families of Wisconsin taxpayers. This includes the recent proposal by the Dark Lord Doyle to use tax dollars to subsidize tuition for illegal immigrants. Alright, it is bad enough that efforts aren’t being made by either the state or federal government to filter out these illegal immigrants and deport them back from where they came from, but now Doyle wants to reward these people further by giving taxpayer money to go to college? True, there is only enough money spent per person to allow them to attend either MATC or UW-Milwaukee, but no matter how much is being spent or not, this is a clear waste of taxpayer money which should not be wasted on individuals who should not be here in the first place. Not only is this an unnecessary burden for the taxpayers of Wisconsin to bare but it also creates an incentive for the Mexican government to exploit the generosity of this nation in order to create an even more chaotic situation for the border patrol in the southwest region of the United States. We attempting to curb illegal immigration, not escalate it. The organization made the announcement on their website that they would be running a television advertisement directly attacking Governor Doyle’s subsidized tuition proposal for illegal immigrants. Wispolitics.com was kind enough to provide a transcript of the following advertisement. Charlie Sykes also pointed two editorials which discussed the subsidization of home loans for illegal aliens and the state encouragement of illegal immigration which are worth a glance over.
