McGee Alleges Racism in Arrest

This is far from what I consider humorous; this is just downright pathetic, even by McGee’s standards which are pretty low to begin with. On the evening of November 8th, 2005, Milwaukee’s own alderman, Michael McGee Jr. (a correction from what appears in the Milwaukee* Journal Sentinel), was arrested for disorderly conduct and has since thrown the race card at the Wauwatosa Police for his arrest.

You can read the two separate accounts of the incident – one from Michael McGee Jr. himself and the other from the Wauwatosa Police Department.

And here are my thoughts on this …

If you realize the store is closed, why would you remain in the parking lot for an extended period of time with your lights on and your engine running? Wouldn’t you call up your friend on your cell-phone (McGee in his statement does not indicate whether he has a cell-phone or not but if the alderman of Milwaukee doesn’t have a cell-phone with him then no one else does) and tell them to meet you somewhere else? Scratch that, why are you meeting in the parking lot of a Blockbuster to begin with if you are simply giving a friend a DVD about non-violence? Why not travel to that person’s house and hand-deliver it to them yourself? Why the extra effort? What does he have to hide? Pulling a Ryan Alexander, I don’t mean to suggest that the alderman has anything to hide in this regard but it does seem a tad suspicious if you look at it properly.

After he was requested to vacate the parking lot, McGee states in his press release that he was immediately pulled over by the Wauwatosa Police Department. What he fails to include in his statement is the event which took place between the request of the police to leave the parking lot and his vehicle being pulled over by the police. After the police officer requested that he leave the Blockbuster parking lot, McGee proceeded to step out of his vehicle, stand in front of the store window, and shout, “F—k you! F—k you for calling the police on me!” Hence the “disorderly conduct” charge against McGee.

McGee argues that it was ‘ridiculous’ for them to give him a ticket because what he was doing what not illegal (this is him talking, not me) and he was merely exercising his first amendment right to defend himself (as if he were being attacked to begin with) and tell the store clerks they shouldn’t be allowed to call the police simply because someone looks ‘suspicious’.

He is wrong in this regard on both accounts. The parking lot of the Blockbuster is considered private property and as much as McGee would care to argue that he has his first amendment right to say what he wants when he wants, the owners of the Blockbuster store are entirely justified in calling the police to report an incident which occurred on their primacies. And secondly, McGee’s “F—k you, F—k you” seems more like aggression to me then defensive language, don’t you think so? More importantly in McGee’s statement is the little blurb which demonstrates that he believes store owners do not have the right in calling the police to report ‘suspicious’ activity outside their store. This is our alderman talking here! What does he expect them to do, simply stand there and wait for it to hopefully go away on its own? As citizens of Milwaukee, does this not make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside? Does it make you feel safer knowing that our political official does not believe we have the right to defend ourselves? I know I do!

He then claims that he was struck on the face by a police officer after he was pulled over and cited for disorderly conduct. Who wants to bet five dollars that what he failed to include in his little press statement is that he put up a struggle when the police pulled him from his vehicle (which they do in such instances in order to prevent any suspected offenders from pulling a gun on them) and the police were given no choice in using excessive force to place him in the back of the police vehicle?

In closing, isn’t it amazing (tremendous sarcasm intended) to see how McGee twists this incident of disorderly conduct (or an incompetent buffoon not thinking and shooting his mouth off when he could have simply left the parking lot and delivered the ‘DVD’ to his friend at his house without incident) into an all-out race riot?

This is why the black community (and not just in Milwaukee) continue to be underrepresented in this country because they continue to believe the lie (the philosophy of Adolf Hitler and Joseph Staling was ‘if you tell a lie long enough, it becomes truth’, something Michael Moore and his fellow Hollywood liberals have taken to heart) and elect black officials who continue to blame the ‘white man’ for everything that happens to them.
