NYC Council Oversteps Bounds on Trans Fat Ban

Can you believe this? I am against the so-called health wars for logistical reasons (Ronald McDonald and Joe Camel are not holding a gun to your head and saying, “Eat this Big Mac, fat ass!” or “Smoke this, loser!”) but there is a bigger issue behind this story. What’s truly disturbing about New York City’s ban on artificial trans fats is that the decision was handed down by the city council. Whether or not you believe the federal government should make choices for people as to what they eat is a matter of personal opinion. However I think everyone can agree that it is not, nor should it ever be, the role of the city/local government to make food decisions for people. The New York City council has seriously overstepped its bounds on this one.

Chalk up another one for the list of reasons why I hate Michael Bloomberg. Conservative/Republican my ass!
