Lawyer Says McKinney a Victim in Scuffle

A lawyer for Rep. Cynthia McKinney, a Georgia congresswoman who was arrested last week for punching a Capitol Hill police officer, argued that his client was "just a victim of being in Congress while black”. Isn’t the NAACP complaining that there are not enough black members of Congress to begin with? Make up your minds! Either you’re going to be ‘victims’ while on Capitol Hill or you are not going to be represented – simple as that. Stop using the race card as an excuse.
